When you enchant people, your goal is not to make money from them or to get them to do what you want, but to fill them with great delight ~ Guy Kawasaki, Former Chief Evangelist, Apple & Co-founder, alltop.com
I have spent several years creating, executing, and managing an impressive range of digital design projects for clients both in Vancouver and Calgary.
Whether it is brand or marketing strategy, information architecture design or web programming, I have a passion for understanding the user/receiver/viewer. My experience in user experience design (UxD) methodologies and techniques are one of my secret weapons. I believe one of my highest purposes and challenges is creating user experiences, which integrate both form and function.
I have a degree in psychology and have certifications in both new media design (BCIT) and e-business (SAIT). My career started as a front-end designer on large development projects such as British Columbia Conservation Council, Northern Lights College and Pacific Fisheries Resource Conservation Council. I bring a unique and uncommon mix of creativity, technical knowledge and business strategy to the teams I work with.
I prefer white to black but black has its own uses. Simple things keep me calm but serious challenges make me better. Tim Horton’s coffee gets my love because I don’t have to do my own stirring. I had a Mac in 1993 and have owned one ever since. Meditation cannot be ignored otherwise I am at risk of not knowing myself. I most appreciate a person’s intelligence, especially the kind that is flexible and able to be re-worked over and over in the face of new facts.
Pugs are famous for a reason: they are not really dogs. Teach me something new! I prefer to exist in my right brain even though it’s not popular. There is nothing better than looking up at a stranger and having them smile for no reason at all. I am not overly extroverted but with a few sarcastic quips I can be convinced to leave the keyboard.
