Chinese Royalty are Born

One of the most phenomenal experiences i have ever had was birthing 6 baby pug puppies. Pugs were initially bred to sit on the laps of women Chinese royalty and be a loyal companion to the King. They do follow you around the house which can sometimes be a bit much.

Here are some general pug characteristics:

  • Playful, calm, loving, agreeable and dignified, always sturdy and stable, good-humored and amiable.
  • Loves socializing, meeting new people and almost always generates attention. Charming.
  • As is the case with most short-faced dogs, his large expressive eyes, wrinkled forehead, cocked head, innocent expression, and strange sounds bring out parental feelings in many people.
  • Pretends to be a tough guard dog when the doorbell rings with barking but once sniffed, snorted, and snuffled you have passed the test from being a stranger to that of a friend.
  • Pug’s do not have problems chewing things around the house.
  • They love being around their family and gets depressed if spends alot of time alone.
  • Pugs are particular dogs. They will protest if they are not allowed to sleep in your bed.
  • Pugs are fine with other animals, though they can be jealous of another pet sitting in your lap.
  • Though stubborn, Pugs seldom get into real mischief. Adults spend much of the day sleeping.
  • Gassiness and snoring can be issues.
  • Pugs like wearing the latest trends in dog fashion.
